Disruption in the memorial business due to covid 19

                                           Future design of crematorium building

                                                 Traditional memorial service

                                                    Wooden urns

Lesser need for  casket lowering device

JUST REMEMBER

The covid 19 pandemic has turned the world especially for business upside down, and disrupted many industries most especially the memorial business

The pre need industry would have been badly effected    People now want providers with hard assets for memorial:

     1.   Crematory/cremation machines
     2.   Ash crypts
     3.  Memorial plots
     4.  Interment service

It is very typical for plan company with P90K cremation plan outsource this to a funeral homes for 60K and then contact a crematory for  P20K .  They have no cremation machine

Investment in cremation machine  is risky.  It is capital intensive and people still prefer plots and apartment type  in the  province.

The funeral homes have nowhere to go because of cremation there is less demand for viewing and casket
We are sure sale of caskets and funeral service is declining because  of covid.

The crematoria are working overtime, some of them smokey all ready and could hardly cope up with the deluge of corpses.

We plan to have network of memorial parks have crematorium very soon with the expectation that covid 19 will persist in the next 3 to 5 years.

Our strategy has been to focus on sale of services ;  the need for plots  that is lower.  The urgent need is for interment service, and hence that must be made a priority to be robust.  Better customer experience use of technology to enhance the experience as video streaming for interments  (Means better wifi connection and power)

Sales of service has been on the uptick with one park having as many as 7 on a single day.   Sales of services  has inched upt by 10% sale of plots
